Happy Father's Day

Father's Day Breakfast

On Friday morning we had the Father's Day Breakfast. 

Children got to eat a yummy breakfast with their Dad, Grandad or special person and then they made some paper aeroplanes and had a competition to see who could fly their plane the furthest! 

 Madalyn had a great time flying her plan with her Dad.

Jake was so lucky to have Father's Day breakfast in his first week of school!

Look at how much fun Ben, Alexander, Lydia and Annie are having! Your breakfast looked delicious!

Vienna and Laela were super excited, look at those pancakes!!!

Cody was tucking into cereal and Grandad had yummy weetbix! What awesome family memories!

Matthew and Andrew had a lovely time with Daddy too!

Jake was ready to beat his big sister Molly and Daddy in the plane competition!

Everyone was so competitive, especially the Dads!!!!!!

Compound Words

We have been reading lots of compound words in the books we read so we have been learning about them in Room 9.

A compound word is 2 smaller words which are joined together to make another word for example:

pop       corn

popcorn

Mrs Burge could not believe how good we were at making compound words! Woo hoo!

Autumn Leaves

On Wednesday, Mrs Harding brought in some Autumn leaves for us. 

We wrote about the Autumn Leaves.

We used the leaves to make leaf rubbings.

 What a lot of fun we had.

Writing in Room 9 and 9a

Today we had fun during Writing

We used our butterfly cards and word ending caterpillars to write about the rat character from the big book. 

Cody ordered the letters of the alphabet which are written on cut up pieces of noodle.

We all practiced writing the upper and lower case letters of the alphabet.

Flower Name Order

We have been learning the order of the letters in our name.

We had to cut the flower out first, write the letters of our name on each petal, then order the letters correctly. 

Look at Jennifer's finished flower. Isn't it beautiful.

Look who started in Room 9 today.

Paris, Andrew, Jennifer, Madalyn, Anna, Annie and Cody started in Room 9 today.

We had fun in the sandpit.

Visitors in Week 9

We had lots of visitors in Room 9 on Thursday. 

Annie, Anna, Paris, Andrew, Jennifer, Cody and Madalyn all start school in Term 2 Week 1! 

Annie, Madalyn and Lydia had lots of fun on the playground whilst Cody balanced on the wooden frame.

We are all good at listening to the teachers on the mat. 

Yay! We can't wait to have you all in Room 9.
