Literacy Week - The Gruffalo

As part of Literacy week we have been focusing on books written by the author Julia Donaldson

Room 23 children

It has been a pleasure having some of the Room 23 children in Room 9a for part of last term. 

Look at how smart they are. They can't wait for their next adventure after the holidays with Mrs Divers and Mrs Waite.

Olive has been busy doing jobs around the house for Service September.

Keep up the hard work Olive. You are such a good role model for your brother Henry!

Koru Whanau Poetry Festival

Today was our Koru Whanau Poetry Festival. 

Three people from each class were chosen to recite their poems in front of parents and the Koru Whanau!

 Mrs Venville and Mrs Knofflock were the judges and we all sat and watched our friends perform.

 Matthew, Paris and Sophie did a super job reciting their poems from Room 9a. Mrs Burge was very proud.

 Vienna, Ben and Arianna also did a fantastic job reciting their poems from Room 9. Mrs Edmonds was very proud.

Mrs Venville and Mrs Knofflock presented the certificates to the children.

 Look at those proud faces! Well done guys!

Welcome to Rangi and Alex who join Room 9a for this week

We may only have you for a week boys but you are already part of our class.

What a way to start school, meeting Clifford the big red dog and Geronimo Stilton! Rangi was excited to think he would be in a class with these two famous book characters!!

We will miss you when you move to Room 23 after the holidays.
